"GUEST RAMPAGE: Survival of the Fittest, My Foot!"
This past week I received this rather cranky essay and I thought I'd share it with you.

"Survival of the Fittest, My Foot!"
by Ives Hadit
The battle over the the survival of the traditional pipe organ is not being fought in the concert halls or cathedrals. Like politics, it's being fought (and lost, in my opinion) at the grass roots level, right there in your local church. Yes, pipe organ building is at an all-time high but the builders are full-up with orders for the rest of their careers. And even if they weren't, I'm not sure the 6-8 stop organs that would be sufficient where these 300-stop digital monsters are being installed would be financially viable for the builders. Anyhow, I'm guessing the high profit margins in the electronics industries allow the digital organ manufacturers the luxury of greater coverage through a much larger sales force. Hey APOBA and AGO, it's not about education, it's about sales and marketing. Stick up for the pipe organ and put your money where your mouth is!
