Vol. IX, No. 9
The weather this past weekend was down right Spring-like. Since then, temperatures have returned to the 30s and 40s but that brief taste of better days ahead was enough to start the sap running in the trees of my mind.
Yesterday morning, I had a flash of a Spring day many years ago when I was still in college. I was driving back to campus on a sunny Sunday afternoon after playing for church. It was warm enough that I had all of the windows down in the car, enjoying the blustery wind as I cruised down a back road through the farm country of northeastern Ohio. It took a while for me to realize that the rustling sound I was hearing had changed from the wind teasing my stack of music in the back seat to the sound of paper pages flying out the back window. The next half hour was spent navigating the furrows of a freshly-plowed field retrieving my repertoire.
Winter is almost over. The growing season is almost upon us! In an effort to grow BACHorgan.com I've created a new page called Builder News. The idea is to provide an outlet for builders to present the latest news on their projects to a receptive audience at BACHorgan.com. The first headline is "Andover Organ Helps Save Local Casavant." I look forward to hearing from more builders soon:
BACHorgan.com community member Carl Parks forwarded his upcoming recital information (see BACHorgan.com Network below) and was generous enough to include an mp3 file from his 3/6 recital. I've taken the liberty of uploading it to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Speaking of recitals and planting seeds for the future, giving recitals are a great way to progress in your personal and spiritual growth. I have a workshop that makes planning a recital as easy as possible. Check it out here:
WORKSHOP #5: "A Recital You Can't Refuse (to Give!)"
BACHorgan.com community member Sue Burkhalter took some time out of her busy schedule this week to contribute photos to two pages. Have a look at the links below. Thanks Sue!
ORGAN SHOES HALL OF FAME
Take the picture, put it in your computer and email it. It's not that hard! These could be photos of organs, organists, churches, musical or whatever. Please provide a caption describing what's in the photo and please be sure the photo is yours and not something that you copied off the internet.
Have a great week!
