Teacher Tribute & Downloadable Music
Updates have been posted to the Sheet Music Store, the Teacher Tributes page, and the Featured Links page (accessed through the Resources page). For the second week in a row, there have been no new nominees to the Organ Shoes Hall of Fame :-(

Of special note is the Teacher Tribute written by Peter Stapleton for the late Claude Means. Peter offers deeply personal as well as entertaining memories of their teacher-student relationship.

You can sing the praises of your favorite teacher by going to the above page and clicking on the Post Tribute button.

On the subject of modest and unsung heroes, Peter emailed me this text from Ecclesiasticus, a book of The Apocrypha:
"And some there be, which have no memorial; who are perished, as though they had never been; ...
Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for evermore.
...
The people will tell of their wisdom."

The full text, beginning with "Let us now praise famous men," may be found here:

Choral arrangements of the text by Ralph Vaughan Williams, T.W. Dean, William Mathias, G. Finzi, and Daniel Pinkham are available at our affiliate sponsor sheetmusicplus.com (You can get there through the Sheet Music Store page at BACHorgan.com).

"Help! I'm rehearsin' and I can't get out!"

PROBLEM: You need a piece of music today. There's no time to get to the music store and mail order is obviously out of the question. What to do?

SOLUTION: Downloadable sheet music. There are two new affiliate sponsors on the Sheet Music Store page at BACHorgan.com. Virtualsheetmusic.com and musicnotes.com both offer downloadable sheet music for sale. Once you have made a purchase, you may transfer the sheet music to your computer's hard drive and then print it out from your printer. Below is a comparison of the two services. You may want to try both!
